Lowercarbon Capital backs ambitious teams working on climate crisis solutions. Born out of the successful Lowercase Capital fund, the Lowercarbon team is serious about making a big dent in the world’s carbon problem.
The Lowercarbon team needed a website to match their bold ambition and style and partnered with Postlight to design and build a website to do just that.
We knew we wanted to evolve the Lowercase Capital product motifs from a classic Western to a style that matches Lowercarbon’s pull-no-punches approach to tackling the climate crisis. Our product design team shared gestural style directions, solicited feedback from Lowercarbon, and presented a refined approach days later.
We landed on a style that is more a sibling than a twin to the Lowercase brand, while staying true to the brand’s roots. We applied the new style to design Lowercarbon’s website, and together we built a design system that lays the foundation for other Lowercarbon products.
Lowercarbon also needed a website that could grow with the firm. We saw an opportunity to customize the content management experience to fit the way the firm organizes.
Lowercarbon makes two types of investments: in companies ready to go to market and in nonprofit research initiatives that advance science and policy aimed at saving lives. Postlight gave these visions the bold treatment they deserve on the frontend and built custom content management features on the backend, making it easy to manage custom pages and inbound messages.
The result is unlike other climate change websites. It isn’t shy. It doesn’t get lost in the details. What it does do: contextualize, explain, and educate.
Today, Lowercarbon is empowered to tell stories in its voice. The company is set up to grow with its efforts and impact, and it welcomes others to join.
