Just Launched: TransplantLyfe by Lyfebulb
A patient-first community for transplant recipients, donors, and care partners.
Living with chronic disease is an incredibly difficult and isolating experience, for the patient as well as their family and caregivers. Last year, at the beginning of the pandemic, Lyfebulb, a company focused on living with chronic disease, approached us with its vision: a best-in-class online community that empowers patients by connecting them in a safe, private, easy-to-use place.
Postlight partnered with Lyfebulb to make that vision a reality, and we’re thrilled that the result of that partnership is now live. TransplantLyfe is Lyfebulb’s first-of-its-kind patient community, focused on supporting patients and caregivers through all stages of their disease management journey.
TransplantLyfe provides a space for organ transplant recipients, donors, and caregivers to share experiences and find one-on-one connections with others as they face the struggles unique to transplantation. For its initial public launch, we prioritized three key features designed to foster these connections and conversations.
First, because organ transplantation is relatively rare, finding other people who have undergone a transplant in your local communities and friend groups is almost impossible. On TransplantLyfe, Find a Friend helps match you with others who have similar profiles. Once you’ve made a connection through Find a Friend, you can have one-on-one conversations with others who are going through similar experiences, whether they’re pre- or post-transplant.
Next, TransplantLyfe’s Forums are where community discussions happen. Unlike groups that form on more generic community platforms like Facebook, TransplantLyfe’s discussions are focused on the shared experience and stages of disease management, and discussions are categorized and moderated. Finally, the Journal is a private space for patients to track daily health details so they can identify patterns and better manage their condition and care.
In so many ways, TransplantLyfe embodies the internet’s best use case: the ability to connect people in underserved groups, located in far-flung places, who share a similar experience, so they can foster connections and focus on positive outcomes. And it’s just the beginning. TransplantLyfe is Lyfebulb’s groundwork for future communities centered around other types of chronic disease.
If you or someone you know is managing an organ transplant or supporting someone who is, let them know about TransplantLyfe.
