Postlight’s Perks and Benefits Roundup 2022
The perks and benefits you offer tell an important story. Here’s ours.
When you’re out to create an exceptional employee experience, perks and benefits tell the story: about your company, your culture, and the values that lead your business. In Postlight’s story, there are a few key themes rooted in our values: growth and development, team building, and work-life balance.
When Postlight’s People Ops team surveyed our employees last year, we learned that they value and seek out opportunities to fulfill the same buckets that we identified. (This is a very good feeling!) So we’ve recently expanded our perks and benefits program, and we’re excited to share more about them.
Growth and development
Generous professional development budget
We provide all employees with a $2,100 yearly stipend for professional development, and each employee determines how to spend it. Many employees choose to use it for conferences, traninings, subscriptions, or coaching sessions to fine-tune their skill sets and propel themselves to new career milestones.
Remote-working options
In order to ensure that all of our team members have comfortable and productive places to work, we added a work-from-home stipend of $450 per person to cover things like desks, desk chairs, and headphones. Additionally, our employees based outside of New York have the option to expense a coworking space monthly.
Lunch and learns
We also offer regular lunch and learns and training sessions on various topics that anyone can join. Many of these lunch and learns are curated by our Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and directly correspond to topics they are passionate about, furthering our mission to empower employees to dictate what they invest their time in learning.
Team building
Employee meetups
In order to foster a more interconnected team environment, we have added a meetup perk, where employees can expense gatherings of three or more Postlight employees. With the addition of this perk, we have seen employees across our 15-plus work-remote locations gather locally, which has improved the ways we connect with our peers.
Culture calendar
In order to increase participation at Postlight events, we have launched a culture calendar that goes out the first of every month and provides employees with links to all the events happening at Postlight. This calendar outlines ERG events, lunch and learns, game nights, company social events, and more.
Work-life balance
PTO and health days
Our PTO program includes unlimited PTO for childcare and extra PTO yearly for things such as marriage leave and professional development. We also offer unlimited sick and mental health days that do not count toward PTO.
Winter break and summer hours
We noticed that many of our employees were saving PTO to use for winter holidays instead of throughout the year. So, in 2022, we added a company-wide winter break between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. We also added reduced Friday hours for the summer season, kicking off on Memorial Day weekend.
Parental leave
Along with our comprehensive parental leave policy, we have joined Pledge Parental Leave and are committed to enhancing the experience of our Postlight parents. Additionally, we provide all new parents with a $500 stipend for a food delivery service of their choice to lessen the stress of welcoming a new child to their family.
Employee donation-matching
In addition to providing our Employee Resource Groups with a yearly budget for donations, we encourage individual employees to give back to the causes that are important to them. We offer donation-matching up to $500 per employee per year so that we can support the organizations that our team members are passionate about.
Entertainment and events
Our entertainment and events perks give employees the option to expense two tickets for events such as concerts, sporting events, or plays up to three times a year, encouraging employees to spend more time doing the things they enjoy.
Health and wellness
Our health and wellness perks give employees the ability to expense up to $50 a month toward the type of physical and mental wellness support that works for them.
Weekly lunches
We offer a weekly meal expense perk to encourage employees to get together for lunch or a coffee chat (in the office or virtually) and support their favorite local businesses.
Our perks and benefits are ever-evolving
Through our carefully curated list of perks and benefits, we’ve consciously chosen what we value and the culture that we strive for. As a growing company, we are ever-evolving and are always looking for new and exciting ways to show our employees that we value their time, effort, and the incredible work that they do. Through constant feedback and suggestions, we look forward to continuing to build our culture and making Postlight an even better place to work.
